My name Chieko Michimasa.
I am the representative of Sapporo Yokoso Guide.
I worked at the Hokkaido-Sapporo Tourist Information Center for three years from 2017.
During the peak of the inbound tourism boom, I often heard from customers, "Are there any guides who can speak foreign languages?"
The presence of accompanying guides who can speak foreign languages that can be easily approached is still limited.

Furthermore, people living in Hokkaido generally use cars. Besides, public transportation is complicated and even Sapporo can be not easily comprehensible to local residents. Payment methods for bus fares and notation of timetables vary from municipality to municipality. 
Navigating through the public transportation system, which even we Japanese sometimes find confusing, can be even more challenging for foreign tourists.

"I want to support you through language and transportation."

With this in mind, in May 2023, I launched the "Sapporo Yokoso Guide" with my colleagues at the information center.
